Though human nature is utterly one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult topic to be brought up. I would try to give my two cents.
We, humans by nature are very needy. And if these needs are not met and satisfied, we tend to become competitive, selfish and violent. The reality is we are undeniably predicated by our genes and our nature as humans were also influenced by ideas from our culture, environment, peers and society.
It's a total impossible juncture to perceive what everyone is thinking but can we all truly live a non-profiteering life? Can we recognize our own BASIC needs as humans? It's very difficult to go back centuries before now when most people were pacifists but during that particular time, there is totally zero violence, zero competition and zero selfishness. I guess being ignorant makes us more human-like as though we're truly made from HIS own image.
